Huawei’s Quad-Camera Wonder is Here!

We’ve followed the development of Huawei’s new P30 line for some time now.

Well, it seems like today is the day.

Huawei’s new flagship P30 Pro smartphone is finally here.

So far, it’s shaping up to be everything the company promised – and much more.

Sporting four Leica cameras and a battery life better than the competition, Huawei’s P30 Pro should be getting the attention of all of the smartphone media fanatics out there.

Of course, that’s exactly Huawei’s goal. The race to produce the best photography and video out there is a fierce one, but Huawei typically fields some of the better smartphones out there which makes it a natural competitor to both Apple and Samsung.

Launched at an ultra chic event in Paris, France, Huawei not only debuted the new P30 Pro but also its siblings, the P30 and the P30 Lite.

The top-of-the-line P30 Pro has a super wide-angle 20MP camera, a standard 40MP camera, and folded-optics telephoto lens.

According to Amateur Photography UK, that’s not the only updates Huawei is bringing to its new smartphone line. Another change is that the previously used “RGGB (red, green, green, blue) colour filter array, it is now a RYYB (red, yellow, yellow, blue) construction. Huawei claims that this makes the phones better suited to low-light photography since there is more light available in the yellow spectrum than green.”

But the P30 Pro isn’t the only impressive piece of gear Huawei debuted: The mid-tier P30 is also quite impressive.

Armed with three Leica cameras and a “40 megapixel main sensor, a 16 megapixel super-wide-angle and a 3x optical zoom lens,” it is probably more than a competent choice for most users.

Preorders for the phone should begin the first week of April with prices starting at “£899 (about $USD 1,200 for the 128GB version, or £1099 (about $USD 1.450) for the 512GB version.”
