Ricoh seems to be lighting up the airwaves lately with new product announcements.
In addition to the street photography powerhouse, the GR III, fans of their 360-degree Theta camera line have something to be excited about, too.

That’s because the new Theta Z1 not only promises seamless 360 pics but also 4K video. Using two CMOS sensors, the Theta Z1 takes 23MP photos but also help with the video side of things.
4K, 30fps video shot in 360 degrees is also aided by a computer algorithm that reduces noise and helps in low-light conditions according to PetaPixel.
The Theta Z1 will also have four microphones, three-axis stabilization, and 360-degree live streams in either 4K or 2K.
Lens apertures include f/2.1, f/3.5, and f/5.6. In terms of file formats for photos, the Theta Z1 will feature JPEG and Adobe DNG raw file compatibility. The Theta Z1 will have 19GB of storage in the unit, which is probably more than enough for most users.
Ricoh is mum on an exact release date but photography press is speculating that it will hit retail in the next couple of months. Priced at $USD 1000, it’s not exactly cheap but it’s pretty competitive when compared with other 360-degree cameras on the market.
Likely aimed at the action photography market as well as those people who shoot photography and street scenes, the Theta Z1’s impressive set of capabilities and its relatively accessible price make it something to watch when it comes out.
