Adobe Premiere Pro CC Exploding Speaker Issue Fixed

Adobe’s subscriber-based products are not only pricey, but they’re also necessary for many of us.

So the last thing any of us would expect is for the software we rely upon to destroy physical components of our hardware. But, apparently, that’s exactly what is happening with Premiere Pro CC and late-model MacBook Pro laptops.

If you’ll recall, we reported a few weeks back that MacBook Pro computers were experiencing a distinct issue with Adobe Premiere Pro CC that was destroying the device’s speakers.

Though it started out as nothing but Internet whispers on message boards, the problem then gained the attention of the mainstream press…but months after it was first reported by Adobe Premiere Pro CC users according to The Verge.

The issue probably didn’t get any real attention initially because it was so weird. After all, ruined speakers on a laptop can be explained by a lot of different things that don’t involve software.

Reports described a loud buzzing sound coming from the laptop’s speakers which could not be turned off. This sound apparently is loud enough to destroy your MacBook Pro’s speakers, requiring a complete replacement.

One YouTube user even posted a video demonstrating the issue in action. Warning: Lower the volume on your speakers because it is loud. You can view that video by clicking here.

Adobe released a patch to fix the problem, saying “a small number of users reports an issue in Premiere Pro that could affect the speakers in the latest MacBook Pro.”

Patch notes for the update describe the various issues that MacBook Pro users were experiencing and how it is resolved in update 13.0.3.
