The hulking steel remains strike a dramatic subject against the natural backdrop of the ocean, creating an amazing scene full of rich artistic tension.

Gym Class – Michael Criswell takes us inside a long-abandoned school gym to explore the natural textures created by years of weathering, highlighted by splashes of color here and there from graffiti. La magnifique église de la Madeleine – this shot takes in the ethereal feeling found inside a very old church that is full of terrific architectural features. Raphaël Odin captured this shot from a very low perspective looking up the main aisle, creating a very dramatic look at the amazing space with all its accoutrements.

Alban Towers – Mark Summerfield shares a great story and set of photographs of a historic apartment building in Washington, DC. The building exhibits dramatic details in the finely crafted stonework, and when taken in with Mark’s photographs and the back-story a very interesting tale is woven.

Crossfire – Timothy Poulton shares a wide panoramic formatted landscape shot that showcases a moody and dramatic sky that lingers over a snow-covered mountain range. The waters of a lake in the foreground create a perfect silky reflective surface to finish off the composition just perfectly.

morning on the ocean – Frank King awakens early in the morning to take advantage of the dawn’s light as seen from the deck of a cruise ship off the shores of France. The ship reveals a great leading line that guides you into the frame where the pastel colors of morning greet the new day.

Mysterious tree – a very strange tree stands tall in a thick forest in this character study of nature by Daniel Řeřicha. A thin veil of fog enshrouds the forest in a layer of ethereal perception that highlights the haunting beauty of the scene.

A great view in Positano – the Amalfi Coast in Italy is a photographer’s dream in terms of scenes that reveal themselves. This shot comes to us from Jim Nix and showcases the terrific character buildings that sit on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the ocean.

Tornado Rope Out – this stunning shot from Roger Hill reveals just how amazing nature is when it unleashes its fury upon the landscape as a tornado rages. This photograph features the brooding clouds from the storm with a ribbon of madness in the form of the tornado funnel as it slowly marches across the land.

Waves – Andy Hooker (LensScaper) captures and shares a great abstract black-and-white shot that focuses on gentle waves ebbing and flowing by the shore of the ocean. This great shot exhibits both a sense of serenity and a feeling of the dynamic as the waves undulate creating great lines and shapes.

Ghost Train – this shot is a highly stylized composite image that portrays a strong haunting feeling in everyone who sees it. Todd Wall created an amazing picture here of a steam train coming around the corner under cover of the moon as the rusty rails find themselves intertwined with a bundle of dead tree roots in the foreground.
